in a SHANE MFG CO. SHEATH (marked 1941)...

* I was told that this would have been made in FORT MADISON, IOWA; but cannot verify with 100% certainty...

USED... Hatchet is structurally sound andhighlyfunctional; very firmly attached to the handle.Exhibits the pictured scratching and chipping of the paint on the head and nicking and scuffing on the handle (see pics for the worst of it). No chips along the cutting edge; but it could use a good sharpening.

Sheath is also functional (and I think everything is there). Belt hook looks to be in excellent shape. Has some minor staining and a couple scuffs and scratches; while I would call nothing a \"hole,\" you might be able to force a finger or something else quite smaller through it in a spot or two if you were highly motivated to do so.
