Beautiful medal and ribbon.
Silver with gold gilt. Instituted in 1934. Very good condition. No case. The side rim has a flag like Japan Mint hallmark and the number 1000, indicating that it is made of pure silver. The puppet state of Manchukuo modelled its institutions on the Japanese. The Imperial orchid crest of Manchuria was chosen to match the Japanese Imperial mum crest.Two Imperial feng huang, male and female phoenix birds adorn the obverse. The birds known as Hou-ou in Japanese mythology, are said to appear very rarely and only to mark the beginning of a new era or birth of a new ruler.REFER TO PICTURES FOR CONDITION.
