This is a very exceptional piece and an extremely rare one at that. This is an original WWI German plane linen relic, cut from a presumably crashed German plane during WWI and brought back to the UK after the war. The linen is slightly uneven cut as to be expected but is in very good condition for it\'s age with slight staining it appears, which could just be the aging paint. Clearly hand painted and very old based on the paint marks, very little damage, but there is some, partially from being folded up for so long. Photos show all damage I was able to see, but may not be conclusive. Some loose strings hang but have not been removed to assure preservation of the piece. The piece measures almost 2 square feet, so it is very large!
