Up for sale is a vintage WWII era ring featuring the seal of the United States Maritime Service on the front.

Marked sterling inside the ring.

Approx size 6.

The US Maritime Service was established in the late 1930s and used frequently during WWII, it serviced as a training school for the Merchant Marines among other things. It was largely absorbed in the mid 1950s.

Ring has good patina, did not attempt to polish or clean. Belonged to sellers father and sat in his jewelry box all her life.

Sides feature an Art Deco-esque design.

Some surface scratching and signs of wear/age. Band is slightly out of round. Uneven tarnish inside ring. Remnants of old silver polish in some of the grooves. A few larger scratches, see photos.

This is a great piece of history!
