Here’s a gorgeous WWII US Army Air Forces Officer’s Jacket in the iconic Summer Khaki coloring. It is paired with a nice Officer’s Visor Cap made by Knox, one of the rarer manufacturers as most of their contract went towards women’s headgear.

The jacket is adorned in gorgeous 1st Lieutenant Bars, Air Corps Officer Insignia, and an excellent hand-sewn ribbon bar. The ribbon bar features the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal, the Air Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters, the American Defense Medal, and the ETO Campaign Medal with four Campaign Stars. There is also a Presidential Unit Citation Badge above the opposite pocket.

Both the jacket and hat are in solid, but used condition. The jacket and hat are as I found them, with no alterations to either having been done by my hand. The jacket also has two laundry numbers, which in addition to the distinctive medals this uniform features, could aid in identifying the man that once wore it!

Aside from being a bit wrinkled, the jacket has no major issues. There is a single moth nip as seen in the last photo of the listing as well as minor and faint staining in a few small places. There is also a spot where (presumably) Pilot’s Wings once sat, but in the years since the war, they have been removed. The Air Corps patch is also sewn on a little loose.

Overall, this pair is stunning, allowing for the lucky collector that snags it to put together a quality ETO Army Air Force display for a reasonable price. Thank you for looking!
