Original WW2 14th Armored Division and 2nd Infantry Division 'Ike" jacket and boots grouping. This grouping belonged to Lawerence Eck, Co. A, 68th Armored Infantry Battalion, 14th Armored Division. Lawerence served with this unit from February 1945 to July 1945. While serving with the 68th AIBLawerence Eck was wounded assaulting and capturing the town of Schaidt on March 23rd, 1945. Schaidt was a well defended town on the Seigfried Line. Eck was also awarded the Bronze Star during the Rhineland Campaign.Following his service with the 14th Armored Division he was transferred to the 45th Infantry Division, then finally, the 2nd Infantry Division where he was discharged in April 1946.
The grouping includes his Ike jacket and boots. The Jacket is in excellent condition and is a size 34. The boots are the early double buckle variety as evident by the green interior and cap toes. The boots are a size 8.
This uniform and boots grouping was sold by the family.The family kept the collar brass, ribbons, and Combat Infantryman Badge. These have been restored with correct originals and placed in the pin holes left by the removed insignia. The 23rd Infantry Regiment DUI's to the collar still need to be restored. Thankfully, these are relatively common.
An information packet consisting of photocopies is included. Inside the packet is a photo of a shadow box grouping that the family saved showing Lawerence Eck's insignia, ribbons, and etc. Also included is a photocopy of a photo of Lawerence wearing this exact uniform and boots!
