Award presented to United States Air Force Colonel Elwyn “Stub” Warfle from the men and officers of J3. The award has a spinning calendar, every time you rotate the day it changes up or down. It also has 2 separate dials under the date for month and day of the week. All works as it should. To the right of center is a pen holder. In the center is a Asian motif with a hanging plaque and below that another plaque with Col. Warfle’s info.

Col. Warfle was a distinguished ww2 veteran pilot who flew b17 bombers in the European theater with the 447th bombardment group. He flew 2 separate combat tours with 40 combat missions under his belt. He was also the author of the book “One Lucky Bastard” in which he wrote about his experiences in ww2. After ww2, he was stationed in Japan, which is where he received this award from the men and women he worked with. We acquired this piece directly from the Estate of Col. Warfle. This is a great piece of American history. Elwyn Warfle was a true hero the likes of which this country will never see again. Please message us with any questions!
