This listing is for an original WW2 M1943 shovel and cover. The shovel is in good, functional condition, the cover is in very good condition.
The shovel is marked on the blade "AMES 1945." It's in overall good condition with signs of normal use. The handle has no cracks and wear to the paint. The blade has rust and worn paint but it's not deformed or damaged. The head pivots properly, and the adjustment nut works properly as well.
The cover is a very nice, first pattern type marked "B.A.B. Co 1943." This first type has the fixed hanger on the back, and is not adjustable like the later ones. The material has no rips, tears or repairs and is a transitional mix of tan, light OD and dark OD. The markings are nice and clear. The material is a bit dirty. The snap is firly attached and functions properly. All the rivets and leather tabs are present and intact.
