Description: Absolutelyincredibleearly pre world war 1 Imperial German Prussian/Austria Otto Von Bismarck Birthday award certificate. Presentation Case is an exquisiteoak carved case with fantastic craftsmanshipthroughout. Thecover is fully boarded and detailed with beautiful oak leavesand acorns throughout with a magnificent scrolled plaque at the top and is inscribed "Otto V Bismarck". At the bottom you can see alovelycarved ribbon bow and two wonderful side medallionswith the dates 1815 and 1895 inscribed with wonderful accented boarders. There is a wonderfuldetailed pebble texturing which furthermagnifies the beautiful of the carving along with a wonderful planed middle frame highlighting the quality wood graining. In the center of thepresentation folder is an incredible original litho print of Germania with symbolicperiod Germanicaccents. This piece is housed inside the wood presentation case and is borderedwith 4 quality wood panelsthat hold it in place and is further complimented with 4 metal regal starbursts. Item is complete with wonderful hinges andwood peg handle to open and close the case.

Theinside of the case is equally as impressive and details a wonderfulbrown pattern silk lining. At the hingesyou can see the German patriotic colors of red and black twist cord with silver wire. This is presumablyhow the document was "held" inside the case. As for the presentationdocument itself, it is completely and meticulouslyhand inscribed in exquisitedetail. At first glance the document it looks relatively "standard" in design but under further investigation the German manuscript is completelyand astonishinglyhand-done. The document exhibits such refined details it's almost hard to comprehend that someone actuallydid this. The wonderful accents and embellishments throughout add a wonderful artistic blend to a rather standard manuscript and brings the aesthetics to whole other level. The blending and gildingof the letters, the texturingand embossing additions through dots and multiple layersand refinement add another layer of beauty to this piece.

From my understanding: the documentsis written from an organizationcalled the "Verbund des Bunds der Germanen" in the Vienna chapter (Austria). Thedocument detailsbest birthday wishes and Easter celebrations for Otto Von Bismarckwith signatures from their board membersofficials. ThisGerman Nationalistgroup that was lookingto work towards the restoration of German dominance in Austrianaffairs. Although Bismarck's policies excluded Austriaand the German Austriansfrom Germany, many Austrianpan-Germans idolized him. Hence why there were were organizations passionatelypushing for Austriato return to German Rule.

Condition: Item is in superb condition with general typical wear given its age. The document is separating at the seam from excessive folding but is still attached almost halfway.
