This beautiful, museum quality and highly collectible 8’4” or 100 inches wooden propeller is in completely original condition. It was built by the Mathews Bros Mfg.Co, Milwaukee, WI USA for the Curtiss Model F flying boat around 1915, so it actually pre-dates most of the WW1 era wooden propellers. Thomas Hamilton was the manager than and included his name on the decal and he later formed his own Company, Hamilton Propellers, which later merged with Standard Steel to become Hamilton Standard Company. The unique scimitar of this early propeller is very hard to find, and they rarely become available for sale. The prop itself is in good condition considering its age (about 100 +/- years). It does have nicks, scratches, dents etc. The original manufacturer’s decals (total4, 2 front and 2 back) are still on it and the original painted fabric tips and metal sheathing. The markings stamped on it are (see photos):
