My collection has reached critical mass and thus I am letting go of quite a chunk of it. I'll be listing a lot of fantastical pieces so please check my listings for more!This is awesome and beautiful Geisha's hikizuri kimono. Silk AND antique, these are super hard to find, especially ones of this age. This kimono is most definitely pre-war with telltale ANTIQUE red momi( the old stuff has a distinct different feel than what was used in post-war to present in Geisha kimono ) in the sleeves and the extra long sleeves at that; the design and quality of silk is consistent with that assessment. It's been partially relined at one point with quality materials. This piece is in over all good condition for what it is. There are a lot of stains and discolorations on the piece; please see photos, but if you collect these sorts of pieces, you know that you don't get geisha's hikizuri in mint condition all that often, and for pre-war pieces, this is especially so, because they had a habit of using them after the war because times were especially hard and they were often worn into the absolute ground. This one is without rips, tears or abrasions; in fact I think most of the staining is from poor storage moreso than actually being worn. There's a couple discolorations on the breasts and some red marks inside; and of course some of the marks on the cuffs are from wear but the rest look like previous storage issues to me. The color is hard to photograph; but it's a pale lavender. The silk quality is superb; really buttery and soft and the paint work is also really nice. It's a really delicate piece and I'm offering it at a very fair price. The vender I purchased it from said that he got it from a very old Okiya in Osaka; as just a bit of provenance on the piece.

I do not deal with customs forms at all, this is just a side thing I do for enjoyment, and international shipping just gives me really big anxiety.
