The year 2008 marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Waterman Pen Company in 1883 and Waterman celebrates this occasion with a refined and contemporary fountain pen.

The cap and barrel are palladium plated and the trim is silver plated.

The barrel reflects a modern interpretation of the use of a filigree design, a technique introduced by Waterman over 100 years ago.

In this new recreation, the metal is first hollowed out by master craftsmen to reveal the detailed design.

Lacquer is then meticulously applied and then the piece is polished to reveal the contrast between the sheen of white metal and the dark brilliance of deep blue lacquer.

The cap is finely engraved with a delicate design that is an extension of the barrel design.

This limited edition is enhanced with aFine (F)width, rhodium plated, 18 kt gold nib, cartridge/converter fill.

All original boxes and papers are included (Outer box, inner sleeve, inner box, display box, pillow, booklet, cartridges and converter).

The concerned pen has been previously inked. Excellent preowned condition. Light handling marks.

Extracts from the booklet:

Some 125 years ago in 1883, Lewis Edson Waterman invented the first fountain pen and founded what was to become one of the most prestigious brands in the world of writing instruments.

WATERMAN celebrates its 125\' anniversary with a historic and exceptional fountain pen.

This is the story behind EDSON 125 ans. The Edson has pure lines that surprise and seduce at first glance.

It possesses the same charisma and strength of character as the man whose name it bears.

A fusion of timeless luxury and modernity, EDSON 125 ans sets its signature on the anniversary of the most elegant of fountain pen brands.

\"EXCLUSIVE\"

With only 1883 units made, echoing the year the brand was born, EDsoN 125 ans is a prize for true enthusiasts and collectors.

A rare pen with powerful charisma, it makes you the privileged member of a very exclusive circle.

EDSON 125 ans is a stunning example of WATERMAN craftsmanship, and was designed at the prestigious Saint-Herblain centre.

It proudly bears \"France\" on its band. Every EDSON 125 ans has a distinct number etched on the side of its clip.

AN ODE TO PASSING TIME

EDSON 125 ans embodies the creative power of WATERMAN and bears the stamp of true technical prowess: the union of lacquer and finely worked metal.

This contrast of materials conjures an exquisite beauty, a harmony, that astonishes and fascinates.

In a shower of diamonds, the brilliance of the palladium bigblights the deep blue of the lacquer - an elegant graphic treatment inspired by the flow of sand in an hourglass, in which each grain is a jewel, each second a precious moment.

You will appreciate the perfect finish and sensuality of the barrel, the feel of the delicate tracery of its patterns beneath your fingers.

DRESSED IN LIGHT

Decisively graphic in its design, the cap of the EDSON 125 ans is wrapped in delicate lines punctuated with diamond shapes.

The precision of the finely engraved geometric forms elegantly distils the generous curves of the pen.

Bold and modern, the matte decorations on the bright surface sculpture the light until EDSON 125 ans shimmers with precious glints.

A true jeweller\'s piece, the cap of the EDSON 125 ans expresses its originality with delicacy.

THE ULTIMATE LUXURY

With aesthetic refinement and attention to detail, EDSON 125 ans embodies the French elegance that is so dear toWATERMAN.

Thirty-four parts, almost thirty operations... Rarely has the composition of a pen been so complex.

A genuine piece of craftsmanship, entirely band-assembled, it demands patience and meticulousness.

Indeed, time is the ultimate luxury, a guarantee of perfection.

EDSON 125 ans draws its strength from the balance of its artistry.

The shape of the clip and of the nib, the metal and the material, harmonize in perfect symmetry.

SIGNED WATERMAN

EDSON 125 ans fountain pen is a piece of jewellery in its own right, unique in design.

Set into the barrel, the nib fuses perfectly with the roundness of the pen. Its purity of line conceals a true technological gem.

Its ink flow regulation system creates a perfect fluidity of writing stroke, even at high altitude.

The flexibility of the 18 carat solid gold rhodium-plated nib offers unrivalled writing comfort. EDSON 125 ans is an object of fascination, with a beauty both contemporary and timeless - an authentic masterpiece signed WATERMAN.
