Vintage Wood Carved Japanese Good Luck Dog Misawaab Japan Pencil Writings 4 lbs.

This is a vintage Solid Wood Japanese, good luck dog. Style of the Akita dog. There are penciled. Good luck! Wishes drawn on the dog. Some can be read and some is faded from time. On the chest it says clearly \"To: Herrera\". Underneath that it says Misawaab Japan. The inside of the mouth is red but the rest of it is natural color. Most of the rest of the writing I cannot read. On the top where one of the eyes would be I can read what looks like shop. On the back of the head it says. Good luck Yamada There are three holes between the ears and one hole at the back. Those would have been for the tail and mane. Yes I know a dog does not have a mane :) But I\'m finding it hard to think of this as a horse shape. :)

Years ago my husband and I owned an antique store and this was purchased as part of an estate. The person was of oriental descent and only new that it had been in their estate for a number of years. I\'m sorry I don\'t have better providence. I will be listing a second similar piece so check out my other sales. About 9 in tall and 9 in long and 4 in across. It does freestand easily, but I took the pictures on a slanted spot so had to hold it up.
