Vtg. USS Atlas ARL-7 WWII Trench Art 40mm Shell Casing w/ Inert Shell Lamp:

You are offerding on a WWII era trench art creation that I believe was once wired to be a lamp. The main body consists of a 40mm shell casing with an inert shell. The base has 3 rough figures that I believe are supposed to be renditions of the Titan God Atlas. The original gold finish to the figures is absent to varying degrees. The 3-sided base is marked, \"USS ATLAS\" and \"GUAM 1945\". The total height is approximately 17.5 inches. The shell height is approximately 7 inches and I don\'t see any marking stamped on it. I separated the casing from the base and included a photo of the casing base markings. I applied a magnet to the base and Atlas figures without any reaction. Wikipedia has history information for the USS Atlas.
