1960\'s Commemorative ceramic ashtray in mortar & pestle shapedistributed by Merck Sharp & Dohme as porcelain pharmaceutical advertising item topharmacists and doctors. Embedded inscription “The good things of life are notto be had singly but come to us with a mixture”, from Charles Lamb. Alsodecorated with antique apothecary jars, scales, mortar and pestles andmedicinal bottles that would be found on the shelves of old apothecary shops. No cracking, crazing or damage. Bottomhas cork (with natural color variation) cleanly embossed with Merck Sharp and Dohme and MSD in blue print. Pestle has MSD on topend and unfinished ceramic on bottom end. Overall, mortar & pestle are in verygood condition with no signs of use and little shelf wear.
