Crafted and finished by hand from artist KP with crushed rock and complex additives from Alaskan glacial system.
Alaska is the land of many contrasts- majestic mountains, endless miles of shoreline, and hundreds of thousands of glaciers. All of the thousands of glaciers in the Lower 48 states don't equal to the area of a large Alaskan glacial system.
A glacier is a perennial accumulation of ice, snow, water, rock and sediment that moves under the influence of gravity. The slow movement of these "rivers of ice" works like a giant mill, grinding the rocks and sediment beneath it, producing a very fine, complex fine array of particles called glacial silt by geologists. The silt is washed away from the glacier by the summer rainwater.
In Alaska, the cold of the Great Ice Age, (Pleistocene Age, 200,000 years to 10,000 years ago) froze the silt deposits in place in the valley bottoms, covering plants, prehistoric creatures and the gold below.
