Coco Joe's was located in Punaluu, Hawaii and was a maker of lava-based and Hawaiian wood-based ("hapawood" or half-wood) resin souvenirs. The company was started in 1950 by Donald R Gallacher (a returning WWII veteran).
Coco Joe's continued into the 1980s before going out of business. "Menehune are a mythological dwarf people in Hawaiian tradition who are said to live in the deep forests and hidden valleys of the Hawaiian Islands, hidden and far away from human settlements. The Menehune are described as superb craftspeople. They built temples, fishponds, roads, canoes, and houses".
