Vintage Charles Wysocki artwork calendars, from 1981, 1985, and 1986.
There is writing in the calendar in date cells of the calendar, but no writing in the artwork area on top. 36 art pieces. These would be appropriate for framing or used for crafting. Charles Wysocki (1928-2002) was an American painter known for his primitive, stylized depictions of American life from yesteryear. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Wysocki studied art at Cass Technical High School and later at the ArtCenter College of Design in Los Angeles. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he worked as a commercial illustrator before transitioning to focus on his primitive art style, which was heavily influenced by his wife\'s family\'s rural roots and his own travels to New England. Wysocki\'s work often featured Americana themes, including landscapes, antiques, and nostalgic scenes, and was widely popular, with his art being licensed and marketed through various mediums such as calendars, greeting cards, and jigsaw puzzles. He was also featured in publications and exhibitions, including a White House Independence Day celebration and an exhibition at the Richard Nixon Library.
