There are three free standing butterflies in this set. Their wings are standing upright, They are made of brass, even the screws attaching the wings and feet to the bodies of the butterflies are brass. The feet do have wear, and some green discoloration that I was not able to get off on them. There are a couple of areas that are slightly darker than others. They are unmarked. Each one is a different size. The largest is approximately 7 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches across the widest point, the next is approximately 6 inches tall and 3 inches across the widest point, the the smallest is approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches across the widest point. I would guestimate that they were produced sometime in the 1960s - 1970s. They make a great table or shelf decoration.
