This is a lot of various types of vintage/antique salvaged lace, trim and fabric remnants. All the lace is cotton and dates from late 1800s to about 1930. There are some flaws such as netting breaks, some spotting but lots of useable pieces, especially for small projects like dolls, paper journals, scrapbooking, needles books, slow stitching, teddy bears and embellishments for quilting etc.
All the pieces are clean with a few having tiny breaks in the mesh. Colors range from white to darker ecru.
—Large lace flounce is irregular in shape. It is very fine with a very soft drape. It measures 27” wide and ranges from 9” up to 12”. Very light ecru in color.—Netted lace was taken from an insertion between shattered silk on the bottom of a dress. (I removed the silk) It measures 5” wide by 44” long. Ecru in color.
—White work dress piece with Hand made lace on the bottom and lovely embroidered dots on the lawn. It measures 12” by 9 1/2”. The white work is all done by hand.
—Collar has a “V’ neck and it made with machine worked Alencon Lace. It is dark ecru in color and measures 4” at its widest—tapering to 1/2” at the V. It is dark ecru in color and has the matted binding for attaching the color to a dress or blouse. Small section of the lace is missing at the bottom. (See picture)
—Listing the laces from the top left down and top right down:
—Hand worked Crochet trim with coronation braid in the center. Measures 5 3/4 yds. (210”) It is medium weight cotton crochet in an off white color.
—Short piece of handmade bobbin lace. Measures 1 1/2” x 14”. Darker ecru in color
—Fine insertion lace measures 3/4” x 31”. Ecru in color
—Medium to heavier Cotton Lace. Usually used for Heavier projects like bedspreads, shams, runners, pillows etc. Handworked lace measuring 1 1/2” x 144” (4 yds)Very light ecru in color.
—Narrow 5/8” edging lace that measures 4 1/2 yds. (167’) Perfect for doll, baby, journaling etc. It is a Rosy ecru in color.
—Off white knitted edging lace measuring 1 1/2”wide and 38” long . It is finished on both ends so was probably meant for a pillowcase, or towel edging.
—Linen white crochet edging measuring 1 1/2” wide x 68” long
—The next piece of lace yardage is actually a length of medallions which were meant to be spar rated and used as insertions in projects. Usually dresses or blouses. Each oval medallion measures 4” x 5” and there are 11 medallions on this length of off white lace.
—Fine ecru lace with scallop border and oval “ribbon insertion” eyelets in the center. Measures 2” wide x 2 1/2 plus yds (94”)
—Machine White work flower on organza. Measures 1 1/2” with a scallop edge x 2+ yds. (88”)
