Vintage mid-century hatchet/small axe by Collins, made in USA. Ergonomic handle is American hickory. Marked Collins 3.
Head weight = 3 lbsTotal weight with handle = 4 lbs, 1.7 oz
Bit = 4-3/8\"LHead length = 7-1/4\"Butt = 1-3/8\" thick
Overall length = 18-1/4\"
Handle only = 15-3/4\"
Head is in good condition and sharp. Handle has cracks, chinks and other wear and may need to be replaced. A steel reinforcement shim was inserted at the top, and the head seems very tightly attached.
