For your consideration is a hand crafted Castilian Imports solid brass footed cache pot. Standing approximately 7.5” in height, measuring 12” in length and 9” wide, this is a substantial decorative planter that weighs 4.5 pounds. The hand incised brass has been hammered into a delightful repousse pattern of monkeys that surrounds the exterior and is decorated with a majestic lions head at each end holding a round door knocker handle in its teeth. The planter stands on four paw feet and the top edge is finished with an applied braided brass rope. Dating to the late 1960s or early 1970s, it is in excellent condition for its age with no dents, dings, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. A few random spots of mild oxidation are seen to the exterior that will likely polish away with gentle persistence over time, and the interior bottom shows expected slight patina from use across 50+ years. The brass is of high quality and polishes with ease to a clear and brilliant luster. Wear is commensurate for age and history of gentle well cared for use so please regard the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing. An estate acquisition.
