Vtg 1950s AUGUST BUERMANN NORTH & JUDD STAR STEEL SILVER 5.75\" SNAFFLE HORSE BIT:
$49.99

North & Judd was founded in 1832 in New Britain, Connecticut, and produced a wide range of spurs and bits through the 1950s. Their offerings were augmented even further when they acquired the well known August Buermann Company in 1926, thus owning all of Buermann\'s lines and patents, including his unique nickel alloy \"star steel silver\". This Vintage 1950s AUGUST BUERMANN NORTH & JUDD STAR STEEL SILVER 5.75\" SNAFFLE HORSE BIT is in very good condition, with some scattered scratching, verdigris, and spot patina throughout, some fading to the word \"SILVER\" marked at one side of the mouthpiece, heavy fading to the now invisible word \"MADE\" at the other side of the mouthpiece, the letter \"X\" having been hand carved into each end of the mouthpiece, and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the bit is in fine shape, with absolutely no cracking or other damage to the thick, tough nickel alloy construction. Most interestingly, it boasts a 5 3/4\" mouthpiece with a 2\" diameter ring at each end, carries the classic \"STAR STEEL SILVER\" and 5 pointed star maker\'smark of the famous (August Buermann, owned by) North & Judd at one side of the mouthpiece, along with \"[MADE] IN NEW ENGLAND\" at the other side of the mouthpiece, and is a fine example of a rare, originalVintage 1950s AUGUST BUERMANN NORTH & JUDD STAR STEEL SILVER 5.75\" SNAFFLE HORSE BIT.Nowcelebrating a quarter century on .
