Original airline poster - British European Airways BEA - The most modern & finest aircraft - circa 1960's

Presenting this rare vintage airline poster, measuring approximately 637mm (25”) width by 1017mm (40”) height.

Showing three civilian aircraft of the British European Airways fleet; the de Havilland Comet 4B jet airliner, the Vickers Vanguard four-engined turbo-prop and Vickers Viscount. In 1974 BEA British European Airways merged with BOAC British Overseas Airways Corporation (a state-owned airline created in 1934 from the merger of Imperial Airways and British Airways Limited) to form what is known today as British Airways.

This poster dates to the c.1960’s and would probably have originally been on display in an airport, travel agent shop or other transport terminal / interchange.

In near fine condition. 1 small border tear to top margin of approx 8mm. 1 small border tear to side margin (taped to rear) of approx 10mm. There is no paper loss or cross-poster folds, stains, pin-holes, foxing or rippling. Colours are good. Side, upper and lower margins also good.
This poster is featured in Paul Jarvis' book 'British Airways 100 years of aviation posters' which details a collection of 200 posters from the archives of British Airways. A must read for the dedicated airline poster collector!
