Here are two lamps I have had a while. I don\'t know much about them but they appear to be made by M. L. Co. 1926 Patent Pending. That makes them American Miller lamps I believe. I can see other Miller lamps with similar Sphinx bases but I cannot find these specific lamps anywhere on the net. They are a weird and wonderful fusion of styles. I have copied a little bit about them which I found online - see final photo. I have no idea what the painted glass inserts are supposed to represent. Back in the day I was going to remove the paint but it\'s probably better to find out whether the paint is original. The design is heraldic I guess and quite simply painted. On one side the glass is ribbed. There is also a photo of a brass version of the sphinx to explain what I mean, but these lamps are cast from a base metal I think. They are incredible specimens....of something or other.Measurements - 18 inches high x base is 6 inches square.Any questions please ask
