Vintage Wusthof Mod #4586 17" Shakeys Pizza 1986 Stainless Steel Jacmar Heavy/Wide, Ultra Rare-In 1986, Wusthof made 800 of these 17" knives for Shakey's Pizza restaurant chain. These were sold through the J S Jacmar Import Co and were to be used for cutting their pizzas. As you can Imagine, many of these Leviathans did not survive being handled by teenagers, not to mention the cardinal sin of use of the dishwasher at day's end. After the Shakey's Business decided go over to even bigger rounded faster pizza cutters, the Wusthof knives were phased out. How many of these are left in the world is speculative

-Blade Length: About 16" or 40 1/2 CM
-Handle Material: Rosewood
-Five Rivets tightly hold the Wooden Scales/Handles onto the knife tang
-This knife is a "Heavy/Wide"
-Rarity: It's not that it's a 4586 model but is that it one of a few hundred left out of 800 designated for the Shakey's Restaurant chain
-Very thick Blade: About 1/2" at the Hilt
-Full Tang
--I wish I had a scale to weigh this knife
-Age: Originally shipped to Shakey's in 1986; my purchase was in the late 80's
-Spine Dents: I see only one very small dent, not worth mentioning. See photos

-OA length: 21 3/4" About 55 1/2 CM
-Edge: Very Sharp. See last photo

-Personal Opinion: Wusthof used the best Stainless Steel. I call these Heavy/Wide knives Millennial knives. Just take care of them and they will last a 1000 years
