Vintage Very Long Interesting Letter 1947 Major in the Pentagon, Genealogy:

I don\'t even know how to describe this letter, it was mailed on July 14, 1947 from Major Richard J. Smith, from the War Department of the Pentagon to his mother. It is 9 typed pages and extremely interesting. It is addressed to Mrs. C. Russell Smith in Rochester, N.Y. Major Smith had just been appointed Chief of Legislative-Liaison Branch. He relates a lot in this letter, from ceremonies he has attended, to a black man winning the numbers and not getting paid. Some great reading in this letter, I hope his mother enjoyed it, although she might have been a bit horrified by some of it.
