Val Saint-Lambert, a Belgiancrystal glassware manufacturer, was founded in 1826 in an abandoned Abbey. Thefounders, M. Kemlin, a chemist, and M. Leliѐvre, of Vonêche crystal works,built new workshops and houses for their employees who quickly became skilledexperts in glassware manufacturing.At its height in the period before World War I, it employedover 5,000 workers creating 120,000 pieces of glass per day. Today, Val St. Lambert is still the major glassmaker of fine Belgium crystal. This vintageheavy lead crystal from the1950s is a beautiful addition to any world-class glassware collection.
