Item up for sale is a magnificent oil on canvas portrait painting of a young NCO in dress USMC uniform. This piece likely dates from around the early portion of the Vietnam War and possibly predate that. Item is signed by the artist in the lower right with the initials "MG" in a red circle. Item was found housed in framing we believe to be original to the piece. Canvas shows surface soiling and could use a cleaning. Surface of the painting shows crazing throughout with no rips, tears, holes or dimples. Wood frame shows patina and surface wear consistent with age and use with no cracks or breaks. Painting itself measures 20" top to bottom by 16" wide. Frame measures 23-7/8" top to bottom by 19-6/8" wide by 1-5/8" in depth. Wonderfully done piece that comes fresh to the market.
