This is probably the best known porcelain Finnish designer, Tapio Wirkkala ( for German porcelain manufacturers Rosenthal, 1960-70’s.) The vase clearly resembles a bird, hence the title “Pollo”. This sculptural vase is truly an iconic piece of Finnish design. The clean lines and soft shape are not just beautiful to look at, but holding the vase is an experience in itself! The surface is powdery matte and smooth, the relief around the neck of the bird begs to be touched.

Size: approximately 3.5” Tall X 4” Wide X 5” Deep. Still in original, slightly worn, box. Condition is Used with no chips, cracks, crazing or any other defects besides what is shown in photo (a slight mark, see last photo-close up) probably removable but I left it original as I inherited it.
