We do have a little French Bulldog-Louie-so while all attempts are taken to ensure no errant hairs have made their way onto this item-it is a possibility-so if you or someone in your home are highly allergic this may not be a good source for you. He also attends doggie daycare on a pretty regular basis-so while we do not own a cat-there is a very remote possibility that another dog may transfer their hair or fur or a cat\'s hair to our dog. If you are new to or have a response score of less than 10 please contact me before placing a offer....Fantastic two piece vintage The Gem made by The Automatic Pencil Company a division of Spengler Loomis Mfg Co - Chicago, IL ~ the metal sharpener does have surface rust and is a lighter metal material/the green apparatus is a much heavier material with a wooden green handle ~ Worcester Salt advertising at the top of the piece that holds the grounds from the pencil sharpening ~ sharpener is in excellent working order...please ask for photos if you would like to see that the sharpener is in good sharpening conditioning/mechanism ~ slight bend to the mounting pedestal of the unitl that probably occured when it was removed from where it was mounted...but this should be able to easily be tightened when re-mounted ~ this sharpener weight approximately 8 ounces before packing and boxing for shipping
