ABOUT THIS BOX

Crafted in Switzerland by Reuge, this box features beautiful burled wood and smartly-contrasting marquetry . The beauty and elegant sophistication are complemented by the equally-beautiful tunes played.

Lift the lid to reveal a highly desired, world-class Reuge 3/72 movement. The movement is clean and shiny and it looks great. The mechanism winds up smoothly and the sound quality is EXCELLENT thanks to the solid, well-constructed box. It switches between the songs effortlessly. The music starts and stops (at song end) via the front slider button. The original Reuge tune label is found on the inside.

This music box plays three classic tunes that are popular and very well-adapted to play on a music box:

CONDITION

The box is in good condition. It is structurally perfect. The finish shows some light wear. Most notable, there are few dings on the front face. They are well disguised in the burled wood, but visible in the right light and angle. I have included some close up pics of the issues. Please see the pictures for the issues and for the beauty of this piece.

The musical movement was inspected and properly lubricated for years of use. The mechanism is clean and shiny. The sound is very rich, loud, and beautiful. There are NO resonance issues (buzzes/chirps) that can occur in vintage boxes. Please see the video to hear this spectacular box!
