A very nice example of a premium ratcheting bit brace, the Stanley model no 923 in the compact 8 inch sweep version.

It is in excellent condition and the joints at the ratchet and head are as tight as they were when new, no excess play. Remaining nickel plating is great, nearly 90 percent.

This forward and reverse Ratcheting Bit Brace has a fully boxed ratchet, steel clad ball bearing head universal chuck & jaws and beautiful rosewood handles.

The universal jaws use traditional tapered auger bits as well as the more modern round and hex shank bits.

The Rosewood handles and are also very good. Tested and lubricated, the brace works great.

included are 5 complimentary round shank bits in sizes: 9, 10, 11, and 14. These all have good screw points, see photos. Also includes s screwdriver bit.

I am in upstate South Carolina. I have recently retired. One of my hobbies has been woodworking, but never had the time to do it as well as would like. A few years ago I became passionate about using vintage hand tools vs. battery or electric powered whenever it made sense to do so. Today my passion still thrives and I enjoy properly oiling/waxing, cleaning or refurbishing, if needed those same vintage woodworking tools.

My goal is to place as many of these high quality, made in the USA vintage hand tools back into the hands of today’s craftsmen. I would never “part out” a good tool just for the proceeds. If the tool I have acquired is serviceable I will put it into as good of condition it can be and sell to friends or on .
