Vintage St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana Package with Indian Chief Toy - 5.5\" x 2\".The St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana \"Started an industry in cooperation with the Tribe and Indian Bureau amid objections that it was a dream which would never succeed because the Indian was lazy. Today it is a helpful element in the economy of the Northern Cheyenne. They do want to work and support themselves.\"This is only a piece of the campaign ad that was sent out when the school was asking for funding to keep its program going. The Indian Chief toy was given as a souvenir with the package.
The toy is in great condition for its age. It, along with the paperwork, all have discoloration due to age as shown in the photos. The paper and envelope have creases through them (this is how they were shipped in the original box) and the box has quite a bit of creasing and wear.
