Here we have a remarkable decorative carving of a Virginia Rail, made by Knute Bartrug. Signed on the base: Knute Bartrug, Salisbury Maryland, Virginia Rail, 1 0f 1, \"My Way\". I\'m guessing the carving dates to the mid 1990\'s.
He was one of the original founders of the Ward Foundation and Wildfowl Art Museum in Salisbury, and he was the founder and chairman for sixteen years of the \"World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition\", held each year in Ocean City.
