This item is for display only. It doesn't make any animated move or sounds. I put a battery in it, and it is does not work. The battery compartment is clean, and there is no corrosion. I think the phone could be used when connected to a landline, as that should work without a battery. However, i do no promise that. ***you will have to glue on Scooby doo's head, its in a baggie in the box. they are attached very delicately, its a clean break and super glue should do it.
