Vintage Redware Cold Painted BLACK CAT Salt & Pepper Shaker Set Japan
Popular in the 1950s, Japanese imports - character and figural salt and pepper shaker sets. Here is a set of salt and pepper shakers, in the shape of cats - one with their head turned and the other\'s is not turned. Made of red clay and called redware. The cats had cold painted faces and bows around their necks. Each measures about 4\" tall, and 1 3/4 inches wide and long. You can barely see the Japan on the bottom. Pepper has the cork inside the shaker and the salt has NO cork. The red and white painting is just about gone, but in nice condition with no chips or cracks.
