Vintage Rare Type 1 Sargent 5306 Knuckle Joint Block Plane Page’s Pat Lever Cap:

A Vintage and very rare type 1 Sargent model number 536 Knuckle Joint Block plane.

The plane is about 6-1/2 inches long with a 1-5/8” cutting blade.

The outstanding features of the type 1 are:

1: The Page’s patent lever cap. Thus one in i. Fine condition and came ib polished cast steel.

2: The sides are flat, without the indented grip feature milled in the side.

3: The adjustable mouth is moved by turning or loosening the brass front handle nut and sliding the mouth plate, it doesn’t have the circular sliding feature.

This plane has 2 negative issues, the blade is a later replacement although it works just fine and the front right side is a bit lower the supposed to be. It must have had a small corner piece broken off.

thrives and I enjoy properly oiling/waxing, cleaning or refurbishing, if needed those same vintage woodworking tools.

My goal is to place as many

of these high quality made in the USA vintage hand tools back into

the hands of today’s craftsmen. I would never “part out” a good tool just for the proceeds. If the tool I have acquired is serviceable I will put it into as good of condition it can be and sell to friends or on . All I am trying to
