Original vintage postcard – unposted, undivided back, White Border

The DENALI was a 335-foot vessel that was built in 1927 & originally named CARACAS. In 1938, she was purchased by the Alaska SS Co. and renamed DENALI. She remained in service, running routes between Seattle, WA & Alaskan ports until the suspension of passenger service in 1954.

The DENALI had the distinction of being the last ship to carry passengers in coastwise travel on the West Coast, sailing from Pier 42 in Seattle loaded with passengers bound for Alaska on September 24, 1954. Afterwards, she was sold, renamed CUBA and finally scrapped in 1960.
