This piece was purchased over 35 years ago in Mexico and you will be hard pressed to find anything that remotely resembles this authentic type of folk art esp created in such a way.
This amazing mythical creature part dinosaur, part reptile, part mystery is an exemplary example of this pointillism style art
along with the disassembling of the various pieces (see photo) the vintage examples do this but newer ones do not come apart in so many pieces.Appears to hand carved from either copal, huanacaxtle or orange tree wood.
