Vintage Pristine Stanley Bailey No 4 Plane Rosewood Beauty Sharpened, Shop Ready:

Vintage, Excellent Condition and all original , A Vintage Stanley Bailey No 4 smoothing plane. It is approx 9 inches long with a blade width of 2 inches.

It has the features of a type 19 making the manufacture date between 1948 to 1961, about 70 years ago. The last of the super high quality Bailey series planes produced by Stanley.

Metal bed and all other metal parts are excellent, no cracks breaks, or repairs. I placed a straight edge along the sole and it appears perfectly flat and straight, no warning. see photo. Black jappaning finish is great about 95 percent.

The premium Brazilian Rosewood handles are excellent and they look beautiful, the rear tote has a nicely done repair about midway the front knob is great, no chips or cracks.

The blade is original notched logo, its nearly full length and has been freshly sharpened with the correct 25 degree bevel. The chip breaker edge has been flattened where is meets up with the blade, see last photo.

This plane is in fine condition and shop ready!

This plane has the important frog adjustment screw and All adjustments move and work smoothly.

thrives and I enjoy properly oiling/waxing, cleaning or refurbishing, if needed those same vintage woodworking tools.

My goal is to place as many

of these high quality made in the USA vintage hand tools back into

the hands of today’s craftsmen. I would never “part out” a good tool just for the proceeds. If the tool I have acquired is serviceable I will put it into as good of condition it can be and sell to friends or on . All I am trying to
