Dressed in the Welsh National Costume, this piebird was produced to commemorate the investiture of Prince Charles (now KingCharles) as the Prince of Wales. Theimprinted emblem on the skirt of the Welsh Lady depicts a plume of three ostrichfeathers within the royal coronet; it also includes the motto “Ich Dien” (Iserve) and the year 1969 (the year of his investiture). This is one of two pie birds that were createdby (Brian) Sutherland Pottery and were in production for only one year. She measures4” tall and is the larger of the two.The back half of her is a very dark brown with no crazing; however, thereis faint crazing on the front, lighter, portion of her. VERY COLLECTIBLE!!
