Vintage 1950s or 60s Pacific Islands, Polynesian TAPA BARK CLOTH. It is a large piece that is ready for framing or hanging. It measures 59\" long and is 57\" wide. There is a small hole in one part--please see the pictures. It has been folded, so it does have creases that need to be steamed out. It came from the estate of a man that was in the military and traveled during the 1950s and 1960s--I also purchased his military records and photos at the same sale and have verified that he would have been in that area during the time period mentioned above. It is a lovely piece of handcrafted folk art that will look lovely in your home.
Most of the items that I sell are antique or vintage as as such they do show signs of patina, use, and age. That only adds to the character that so many collectors desire. If there are any major issues or defects, I try to describe them to the best of my ability and as accurately as possible.
