Vintage Peint Main Limoges France Trinket Box ~TV Arm Chair By Gerard Ribierie:

A beautiful and very interesting hand painted porcelain trinket box from Limoges France. The box is in the shape of a chair for watching TV. The top of the box shows the brown colored chair with a pillow on one side, a TV Guide sitting on the chair and a TV remote on its arm. The top of the box is the chair's back, arms, and cushion. The box has a hinged lid with the hinge equipped with a flattened center to serve as a stopper for the box's lid when opened. The entire box is colored in browns with darker brown- and gold-colored highlights. The box has a rectangular flat base that is white in the color. The box has a thumb piece with floral decoration. This is a very interesting box with a hinged lid. Both top and bottom of the box are fitted with brass frames at the edges with a hinge on the back and a locking thumb piece attached to the front of the top portion. The inside of the box is white in color with the bottom half having a hand drawn design representing eye glasses. The top half of the inside is undecorated and is white in color. The exterior bottom of the box is marked with the maker's mark in black lettering under glaze. This is a very nice piece from Limoges France to add to your collection of small trinket boxes. This is a RARE collectible French Limoges. Vintage and has been displayed in a Collectors Showcase for 25 years.

Date: Unknown, but most likely sometime in the 1970s or 1980s, possibly earlier.

Origin: Made in Limoges, France.

Size: The box is ~1 3/4" by~1 1/2" at the base and is ~1 3/4" at its highest. The piece weighs high on the side, and weighs about 2.9 ounces.
