Offered are Mexican Folk Art Elderly man and women. They may be going to the market to sell their goods, or perhaps leaving having bought supplies. The man carries a large pot, perhaps full of water. The woman carries a smaller pot containing perhaps tamales, or sopapillas, or some other baked goods.
These exquisite figures were made of papier mache by a very talented artist. It is evident by their white hair, contrasted with their brown skin, that they have lived a long life working outdoors. They are thin, yet the man is taking long strides, and the woman keeps up. The artistry is quite remarkable, and one cannot help but wonder what their stories are.
