Vintage Pair of Native Dolls from Yugoslavia - Man and Woman - 10\":

A pair of dolls, a male and female, from the Slovenia part of Yugoslavia dressed in native costumes. Both have soft bodies with painted features. Their are made of plastic. Their heads could either be a softer plastic or some kind of composition material--different from the hands.
The male doll is wearing black felt knee pants, a black felt cape with sleeves, a white cloth shirt and pants under his knee pants, a red felt vest with 3 white buttons, a Tyrollean style black felt hat, and black felt boots.
The female doll is dressed long, forest green satin skirt, black silk apron with a gold chain and pink bow, a long-sleeved full blouse, shouldered flowered blue scarf held together with a red felt flower, a white pouf bonnet accented with a gold trim and a pink bow, a white underskirt, and black plastic shoes.
A label on the back of the male doll says the following:SouvenirNaroone Nosnje (translates to National Costume)SlovenjaO.P.Z. Desinic (Desinic is a small village in northwest Croatia not far from Slovenia.)
The dolls need to be on doll stands or leaning against a wall to stand upright.
My mother purchased these at an antique show in Kenosha, WI, on July 3,1987, which was before the breakup of Yugoslavia into separate countries.
