Vintage Pair of Cast Metal Statues/Bookends “Gazelle and Wolves” – #524:

This is an outstanding pair of matching cast metal statues, orbookends, each measuring approximately 7” in height, 9 ½” in length and 4” inwidth. I am uncertain as to the type ofmetal these figurines are made of but they are cast and have a bronze look andeach weighs a little over 2 lbs. Bothstatues appear to display a gazelle being chased by a pack of four wolves. The bases are covered with felt and althoughthey are unmarked by the foundry, there is an embossed, “524 Pat. Pend.”engraved along the side of each statue.Both of these statues are in very good condition with the exception ofage-related wear, some metal discoloration and a small crack in the casting(shown in last photo). Despite these fewimperfections this is an impressive pair of vintage statues/bookends.
