Available is this Vintage Northwest Coast Native Carved Cedar Model Canoe, most likely Coast Salish, as it was purchased in NW Washington State near the Canadian border. I am not an expert in this type of art, but I do believe it is from the Northwest Coast.
Handcarved, most likely as a model for a to scale canoe, this piece is rustic and has a lot of character, from its traditional shape to the hole carved out in the eye of the eagle head that appears to the inspiration for the shape of the canoe. It measures just over 12" long by approximately 3" wide.
