Weight 20 lb.This Vintage Nicholson Rotary Power Files Tool Store / Factory Display Case - From Cooper The Toolmaker - of the Cooper Group (Cooper Industries) - is in Fair to Good Condition. The tools themselves appear to be unused as evidenced by the vinyl like casing over the sharp cutting surfaces.Not all Power Files are present.This is how I found it. My father had bought it at a tool sale ca 1981 - so it\'s at least that old. It appears like he had used a few of the files as there are some empty slots. 36 of 45 slots have a power file in the slot. When I look at the shadow image behind the power files, it appears that some of the power files are not in the correct slot - esp. in the top row. It\'s also possible that other tools not originally in the case were placed there for convenience - maybe some of the grinding stones.The case itself is in fair condition, with an opportunity for restoration for those so inclined. I took some zoom photos, so examine them closely and you can observe the extent of corrosion on the hinges and the lock (no key - but no key needed) The cover can swing away (see photo 4) which exposes a storage area behind the tools (photo 5). I envision a customer or factory worker selecting the desired tool and the shop owner or factory worker would retrieve one from the back - leaving the display intact. Closing the case after opening it requires a little shoehorning to get it to fit back in. But that could be easily mended with some light sanding.
The case is heavy. The shipping weight will be around 25 lb or more, so shipping is quite expensive which I\'ve set at $30. Some of these individual power files are worth $15 and up (even at $5 each, that would put the value of just the tools at $180), so if you are buying the case just for the power files (not as a collector), you can send me a message through indicating such and I will ship the tools only (NO CASE) and reduce the shipping cost to $10. Send a message that you want the tools only and I will refund $20.00 for reduced shipping.Inspect the actual photos carefully for case condition (if you\'re a collector) and / or tool selection if you are interested in using the tools.
