Navajo horse hair pottery is created by applying actual horsehair to the finished pottery piece. Immediately after the prepared ceramic clay pot has been fired a thin layers of horshair is evenly spread over the top of the pottery. Precise temperatures are required to allow the horsehair to properly burn onto the pottery, creating theunique marble effect. The pottery is then wiped with a matte glaze finish. Each piece is ONE OF A KIND.

Vase measures 4\" H x 4\" D at the widest point in the middle of vase. It is signed on bottom and comes with Certificate of Authenticity. Beautiful piece that has to small inner rim chips/flea bites and a few small nicks...please see the close up photos of flaws. Still a beautiful piece to add to your collection!
